KSB completes enlargement of GIW’s Grovetown facility

KSB has announced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase enlargement of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

The first two phases of the growth had been approved in 2013 in response to growing market demand for larger equipment. Since then, the Grovetown facility has accomplished upgrades, added tens of hundreds of sq. ft to its foundry, increased furnace capability, accomplished construction on a distribution centre, and won approval for 3 additional phases of improvement.
With the completion of the challenge, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mold castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), elevated its maximum pouring output by up to sixty six,000 lbs (30,000 kg), lowered the number of required shot blast runs by 50%, added special cleansing stations for big castings, implemented new know-how and efficiency options, and doubled employee locker room facilities.
KSB went forward with the project’s completion, regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.

In 2020, the KSB Group launched KSB Mining, a brand new market-driven organization offering experience on centrifugal pumps to mining operations.
The expanded facilities in Grovetown function the headquarters of GIW Slurry Pumps.
GIW currently employs over 600 folks at its Grovetown facility.
